The village is surrounded by typically Devon countryside with views as far as Dartmoor and Exmoor, and a 10 minute drive from the coast with its sheltered coves, long sandy beaches and cliff-top walks. The market town and historic maritime port of Bideford is 3.5 miles away and offers shops, pubs, restaurants, Burton Art Gallery and Museum, and The Oldenburg for trips to Lundy Island. There is much to see and do in North Devon. You will be ideally placed for many attractions including the gardens of RHS Rosemoor, National Trust Arlington Court, golf at England's oldest links course at Westward Ho!, walking or cycling the Tarka Trail, or visiting the picturesque villages of Clovelly, Appledore and Instow. In the evenings, relax with a glass of wine in the garden or enjoy a meal at the village pub. Furnished to a very high standard, the cottage offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double and 1 single. Shower room: modern double shower with WC. Separate WC downstairs. Lounge: with woodburner effect electric fire, TV with Freeview, DVD and hi-fi, leading to a conservatory with seating. Dining room: separate. Kitchen: fitted with induction hob, hood, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Utility room: external with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside: private enclosed mature patio garden with pond and seating. Amenities: off-road parking for 1 car. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and wi-fi included (heating surcharge of £10 per week applicable 1 November - 1 April, payable direct to the owner on arrival). Regret no pets or smokers. Regret no babies or children. Location: beach 4 miles, shops 2.5 miles, pub a short stroll. Arrival: 4pm.

The small port of Bideford in north Devon, England, is located on the River Torridge opposite East-of-the-Water. A perfect location for staying at if you wish to explore the north Devon coast, Bideford is not far from Northam, Abbotsham, Westward Ho!, Appledore, and Monkleigh. The nearest main cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Exeter (population 106,772), and Truro (which has a population of 20,920 according to the 2001 Census).
By the 16th century Bideford had become the third largest port in England, although its importance is far less these day. It is famed for the 'Long Bridge' which crosses the river and which dates right back to the 15th century.
Bideford is easily accessibly by road, being located on the A39 coastal road, and offers much for the holidaymaker wishing to explore this part of Devon.
